It’s fun and humorous to watch a dog or a cat chase its tail. My dog does this from time to time, and I always find it fascinating to watch. I suppose it’s “cute” or amusing. Not so funny, though, when it comes to us as humans. How many of us spend much of our day focusing on things that don’t really matter in the overall scheme of things? Many of us wonder why we “can’t this” and why we “can’t that” or why we just can’t seem to make things work the way we want them to. I could spend a lot of time here trying to explain why that may be, but the point of today’s blog is to simply leave you with a gentle, yet strong reminder. It’s written below along with some simple truths to make you think. And I write it, not only for you, but also for myself. So, let’s all try to take it to heart –
Stop chasing your tail -
- Don’t waste your energy on things that suck!
- Being busy doesn’t mean you’re productive.
- Everything you do is an investment in more of the same.
- Climbing the ladder is no good if it leans against the wrong structure.
- Worrying about what could be is usually much worse than what will be.
- The best answer to a problem is usually the simplest.
If you’re like many people, you’re probably doing a lot of “tail chasing”. Are you worn out yet? People ponder and ask the age old question (one which I know the answer to) – “Is there life after death?” But today, I ask you, “Is there life BEFORE death?” If we are to move forward in this life, we all must quit focusing on the things that deplete our energy and joy and start doing those which invigorate us – the things which bring us LIFE.
How about for today, let’s try to take the energy that we typically spend on things that may seem urgent (but unimportant) and shift it to the things which really matter. Let’s stop the addictive, wasteful circle of tail chasing and start living. It’s time to stop allowing our priceless energy to leak out wastefully to areas that don’t matter in life. Instead, we need to plug the leak, harness that energy and focus it on the things that are truly important. Then maybe we’ll start to realize that there is Life BEFORE death!

I like the points you made. It is true. Just because you are busy does not mean that you are being productive. Climbing the ladder is no good if it is leaning against the wrong structure. And finally, the answer to the problem is usually the simplest. We can get so caught up in things that we tend to over look the obvious, and this can lead to even more frustration.
Thanks for the good read.
